Giveaway winner, new bangle stash and more rings

Hiiiiiiiiii!!!!

Nikki from LoveRoot won the stack on the left, congrats Nikki!  It'll be on its way to the States tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in my little corner of the universe...

I've been working on a new bangle stash, using the suggestions I got when I asked "what colours????".
So here goes....  It's a very big pile, I think I'll divvy it up before listing it :)  And I may get rid of the top fiber bangle, it looks too bulky.

My daughter contributed the thin one with the flower - but now she wants to keep it ha ha, so it may not make it to the final stack. We'll see. I may have an identical flower stashed somewhere.  We'll see.  We'll see.  We..

More rings....

Natural shells, hand-picked by yours truly, enhanced with big nuggets of semi-precious stones (quartz and fluorite), a few shards of amethyst, a headpin from the talented Kimberley of Numinosity Beads, antique Czech garnet beads....

Next, a pair of earrings:

Teeny Charlottes (just over an inch high) from oscarcrow@Etsy, on spider stampings (that I customized a bit!). Vintage rhinestones.

And last, but not least...

a monster bib for the primitive girl in you. Features wooden beads, bone beads, some carved, some.. not carved, a bone turtle and above the turtle, on top of the beads.. two fish vertebrae. Eeeeh!!!!  Yep.

What do you all think?  (besides the fact that some photos are really, really bad)

Work in progress

So I've been working on many different things, which is a bad habit of mine - I tend to not get anything accomplished that way...
I did manage to finish, photograph and list this one though:

That one was easy peasy once I had all the components.  Old pic under a thick layer of resin, and laid on recycled tin, handmade labradorite chip chains, oxidized brass chain, rusty black connector, old Venetian lace, handmade dangle with repurposed rhinestones... oh, pyrite chunky beads and filigree for the choker part, and a big faceted crystal underneath the lil girl.

In a totally different style, I also listed this colourful mess:

Summer bangle

Also, those earrings that turned out quite nice:

I'd like to thank Marina from fancifuldevices for the oxidizing tutorial and Petra from ScorchedEarthonEtsy  for the wonderful dangles.

Works in progress now....  I've been having a lot of fun with resin, pearl ex and other powders (we're out of paprika). Here's a quick peak:

Notice the different backgrounds.  Which is better, black or white?

The Charlotte parts all come from my pal Harry's Etsy shop (Oscarcrow)

That's all for today. Toodles!

Artists....

by David Ackert.

"Artists are some of the most driven, courageous people on the face of the earth. They deal with more day-to-day rejection in one year than most people do in a lifetime… Every day, artists face the financial challenge of living a freelance lifestyle, the disrespect of people who think they should get real jobs, and their own fear that they’ll never work again. Every day, they have to ignore the possibility that the vision they have dedicated their lives to is a pipe dream. With every role, they stretch themselves, emotionally and physically, risking criticism and judgment. With every passing year, many of them watch as the other people their age achieve the predictable milestones of normal life – the car, the family, the house, the nest egg. Why? Because artists are willing to give their entire lives to a moment – to that line, that laugh, that gesture, or that interpretation that will stir the audience’s soul. Artists are beings who have tasted life’s nectar in that crystal moment when they poured out their creative spirit and touched another’s heart. In that instant, they were as close to magic, God, and perfection as anyone could ever be. And in their own hearts, they know that to dedicate oneself to that moment is worth a thousand lifetimes."

What I've been up to....

Well, I've been sick. A lot. But I'm all better now :) I've been working on a lot of different things, my mind is buzzing with all the ideas I have, so I started journaling them. In a real journal. Enough with the post-its and the notes on the back of my hand. Yep, I'm organized now. Ha ha. Seriously... Here is what I've managed to finish recently.

Cool bangle stack... Possibly the toughest thing I've ever had to photograph! Earrings... Coz I'm obsessed with earrings! I have a big project in the works, which involves lots of black, some black and white, rhinestones, found objects and cool stuff all around. Stay tuned!
